Wayne Manor

Wayne Manor was seen in many of the episodes but it was not a regular filming location. When they got the go ahead on filming the scene, stock footage was shot to give Bruce Wayne a " Stately Manor".
Lorenzo Semple when working on the initial script sent his thoughts to William Dozier about the shooting of Wayne Manor.
They rented the place and shot a great deal of stock footage from different angles but decided to not use any vehicles just different views of the home. In 1966 when they decided to shoot a full length film they had to once again rent the home and do the additional filming. It cost $500.00 a day and they had to hire police for traffic control as well as a $50.00 shooting permit.

The house is actually a real home in Pasadena California on S Rafael Ave. It was built in 1928 and has 10 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms ! There have been many rumors about the home - that it burned down ( no - not true, it was a house down the street ) and rumor was Paul McCartney purchased the home - again not true but the current owners do still get mail addressed to "Sir Paul " :)
In 1997 It was featured on a tour of homes in Pasadena and that would have been your chance to get a tour -
The home still is used in video productions and it was featured in the movie " Scary Movie 2 " recently.
Still the home is probably best known as Wayne Manor and in the past people have knocked on the door asking to take a tour but truthfully only the exterior is ever featured on Batman, all the interior shots were done on a soundstage. The house is also not visible from the street so don't go bothering the current owners !!! . Here is a current photo of the home that Batman called his " Manor "
Notice the two "Batdogs" guarding the property ! :)
