Thirty years ago, Americans from all walks of life were glued to their TV. sets watching a brand new show. It took the country by storm and caused Bat Mania. Young and old alike were taken on a roller coaster ride that was called

 

BATMAN

New Items In Video Section And Vehicles !!!

The Batman series was unlike any show ever on TV. This show, unlike most super hero shows done before, appealed to the audience at two levels. To the kids, it represented a live comic book, heroes larger than life in their living room. On the second level, the adult viewers, the humor was done in tongue in cheek style and also the large list of then famous stars was a great draw. I remember as a child watching the show, in fact my brother's first word was baman ( no lie ask my mother ). To me at the time the humor did not register. I loved the boff, pow , sock, action and the exciting villains.

My mother had made me a blue cape and mask and my brother had a yellow set. Together, he and I , WERE -Batman and Robin. I can remember a childhood friend telling me his dad drove the Batmobile and four of us sitting, looking out the window, waiting for him to come home to see if it was true. ( it wasn't ). Not until later when I was well into my twenties did something click when I re-watched the show. I found myself laughing, I didn't remember the humor, and for some strange reason I had a warm feeling, a sense of security, like a visit from an old friend you haven't seen in a while. I guess its hard to explain.

Why did the show live on in the hearts of Bat Fans everywhere?
I cannot answer that....... I do know that I am not alone.

This cyber collection of bat history is dedicated to the kids who wore a cape in 1966, the adults who watched their kids laugh and grow up in a changing world and any one who knows in their heart that Batman is REAL !
