Jay Sebring
Jay Sebring was an interesting but tragic story of a popular hair stylist. During the time of the series, he was a major force in the development of a market for mens hair products and toiletries and probably the premier stylist in the United States. He hobnobed with the rich and famous and was quite a playboy. The Batman connection came from the fact that he cut both Stanley Ralph Ross's hair as well as Exec. producer William Dozier. In addition to cutting the Batman decision makers, . His customers included Frank Sinatra, Peter Lawford, George Peppard, Paul Newman and Steve McQueen. His new company, Sebring International would franchise mens hair styling shops and his line of hair products.
In fact, It was Jay who told friend of Bruce Lee ,Ed Parker that Dozier was looking for a actor to play Kato in" The Green Hornet" !. Ed owned a martial arts studio where Sebring was studing Martial arts. When Ed found out of the role, he went to Dozier with film of Bruce and Bruce was hired.

In Episode # 64 " The Bats Kow Tow, He played Mr Oceanberg- get it ? Sebring aka Oceanbring... A famous hair salon owner. He spent his time catching antique vases and statues during the fight between The Caped Crusaders and Catwoman's thugs.
The
tragic part of the story was in 1969, Jay who had dated Sharon Tate,
a
up
and comming actress, and was dumped because of his liberal dating
policy (
ie:
fooling around). He remained friends with her even after her
marriage to film guru Roman
Polanski.
She became pregnant with his child and with Roman in Europe, she
asked some friends over to keep her company. Jay and four others were
in the house when the girls of Charles Mansion came and killed all of
them. Sharon and Jay were on the bed talking when they were murdered,
the bodies were found with a rope around both their necks and death
came to Jay from a 22 caliber bullet and then post motum 7 stab
wounds and Sharon was stabbed to death. Very sad. To read abrief
