Gotham City Public Library
When Barbara Gordon wasn't running the streets as Batgirl she was the librarian at the Gotham City Library. When we saw the exterior on the building, it looked like this:
There were times that Barbara was late at work or they describe it as daybreak and a scene such as this was shown :
In reality, this library wasn't in LA or Hollywood, it was a continent away in New York.
This is actually the New York City Library on Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street in Manhattan. The Library was dedicated on May 23, 1911.
Often referred to as the "main branch," the landmark building on Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street is not a branch with circulating collections at all, but rather houses The Research Libraries' Humanities and Social Sciences Library. Here are the Library's collections in the humanities, social sciences, and special collections.
If this were really where Barbra worked ... it would have been one heck of a commute :)
