The feline queen of crime, a sexy, evil cat who had her eye on Batman, If she could ever get him to turn to crime, he would be hers forever ! She sometimes had a disguise to trick others, and she always had nine lives. She also turned out to be a good car thief !!!

In
the series, the first Catwoman was Julie Newmar. She appeared as
Catwoman for six episodes. She had graduated from the Actor's Studio.
and was a dancer as well as being a actress. Her first role was in
the 1952 movie Just
For You.
She went on to appear as a dancing girl in Serpent
of the Nile
in 1953. TV appearances included, The
Phil Silvers 
Show
(55), The
Defenders (61)
The Beverly Hillbillies
(62) The
Twilight Zone
(59), the list goes on and on, she was on a TON of TV shows before
Batman. In 1964 She landed a larger role in
My Living Doll as
Rhoda the robot. Then in 1966 
BATMAN
!!!! Julie on landing the role.. "I
had lived in New York at the time on Beekman Place, I remember it
was a weekend, Friday or Saturday, and my brother had come down from
Harvard with five or six of his friends, and we were all sitting
around the sofa, just chatting away, when the phone rang. I got up
and answered it , and it was the agent or someone in Hollywood, who
said, Miss Newmar, would you like to play the Catwoman on the Batman
series? They are casting it out here. I was insulted because he said
It starts Monday. I said 'What is this' That's how television is
done: they never know what the are doing until yesterday. My brother
leapt off the sofa. I mean he physically levitated and said BATMAN!
that's our favorite show at Harvard. We all quit our classes and quit
our studies and run into the TV room and watch the show. I said ,
They want me to play Catwoman. He said
DO IT ! so
I said O.K. Ill do it."
This is a trap set by Catwoman to fry the Caped Crusaders. This is a rather large file but it is a classic trap and I wanted to include all the action !

She
was a 
favorite
villainess and had a great following of older bat fans who enjoyed
her cat curves. The producers and actors , in the characters of
Batman and 
Catwoman
,created a great deal of underlying sexual tension which was a great
draw to the viewers. Julie went on after the series to appear in so
many TV and movie appearances that I dont have the space to get them
all down. Her last role to date was in the 1996 movie, Oblivion2:
Backlash.
Last I heard she is doing fine and I am sure we will be seeing her
in something new soon. On her role in the series: "It
was so wonderful being on that show, because you could be nasty and
mean, and in the fifties women could never ( unless you were in some
B pictures actress) be mean, bad, and nasty. It was so satisfying , I
cant tell you how satisfying it was."
I
believe you Miss Newmar, I really do.

he is a bit of a bore with his holy this and holy that... Aw That
